Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel attended the celebration for the 25th anniversary of the pastoral visit of Pope John Paul II to Cuba, the first of a Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church to our country, reported on his Twitter profile Presidencia Cuba.

The event marked a milestone between the relations of the Greater Antilles and the Holy See.

In the commemoration, held in the emblematic Aula Magna of the University of Havana, the envoy of Pope Francis, His Eminence Cardinal Beniamino Stella, participated.

Cuba is one of the few nations that has received the last three high priests of the Catholic Church.
