A 44-year-old homeless man died after a bus driver ran him over in the Plovdiv village of Tsalapitsa.

There is no evidence of alcohol or drug use by the driver, the police press center told BNT.

According to initial information, the homeless man lay down under the front of a parked train to sleep.

The bus driver got on and drove off.

He did not suspect that there was a person below and ran over him.

Residents of the village came across the body and immediately reported it to the police.

An autopsy will clarify the cause of death - whether it occurred from the cold before the run-over or as a result of the flight passing through it.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
