In our region there is a big deficit of electricity.

Now that the war in Ukraine is underway, it turned out to be a good thing that in Bulgaria only 3% of the population is gassed.

The caretaker government must implement the decision of the National Assembly to sign a contract with "Westinghouse" in order to diversify the energy sector.

This is good for Bulgaria, because we can break away from dependence on Russian nuclear fuel.

It's always good to have an alternative.

The same applies to the contract with "Framatom" for fresh nuclear fuel for the sixth unit of the Kozloduy NPP.

This treaty will also help to break away from Russian dependence.

This is what the former executive director of BEH and Kozloduy NPP Valentin Nikolov said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV

Valentin Nikolov was born in Dobrich.

He graduated from the University of Economics in Varna, which commented on the energy crisis.

The National Assembly adopted a draft decision on the construction of the 7th unit at the Kozloduy NPP

"

Belene NPP will not happen soon. At the moment we are crying for the seventh unit of the Kozloduy NPP. The

National Assembly has made a decision and the caretaker government must start acting. If we start the processes immediately, by 2032 we will be able to include the new unit in the energy system. This way we will support our economy, and we will also be able to export electricity to the region, because there will be a shortage. We absolutely need a seventh unit of the Kozloduy NPP. This will have to be done with the AP1000 technology," added Nikolov and was adamant that coal-fired power plants are necessary for the Bulgarian energy industry.
