[Reporter Ou Sumei/Taichung Report] A 38-year-old Liao woman suffers from mental illness. After sending her daughter to school in the morning, she did not return home until 0:00 the next day. After reporting the case, by locating Ms. Liao’s mobile phone, she found Ms. Liao at a supermarket on Shengli Road, Tanzi District 20 minutes later, but the supermarket staff said that Ms. Liao had been sitting in the store from day to night and refused to move, and she was helpless. The policeman had an idea and asked the clerk to pretend to clean up. Ms. Liao got up, and the police followed her all the way to escort Ms. Liao home, successfully completing the task of tracing her.

At around 0:20 a.m. on February 4, a man surnamed Lu went to the Tanzi sub-station to report the case, claiming that his wife Liao Nv (38 years old) suffered from mental illness and was reluctant to talk to others. On the morning of the 3rd, he drove his daughter away. He did not return home after school, worried about his safety, and hoped that the police would help him find him.

The police found that Ms. Liao’s last location was on Shengli Road, Tanzi District through mobile phone signals. The police judged that Ms. Liao might be in a nearby supermarket because they were familiar with the environment under their jurisdiction. Although they tried to communicate with Ms. Liao, Ms. Liao remained silent and continued to sit. The supermarket clerk said that Ms. Liao sat there from day to night, unable to do anything.

The police had an idea and asked the clerk to pretend that the seat area needed to be cleaned. Ms. Liao was finally willing to get up and go home. The police then followed her all the way to escort Ms. Liao back home safely. Ms. Liao’s family members thanked the police frequently, saying that Ms. Liao was not usually good at getting along with her.
