Since April of last year, 32-year-old biologist and soldier Bizhan Sharopov, who fought with the enemy near Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, was considered missing.

On Tuesday, February 7, it became known about the death of a soldier and a scientist.

This was reported at the Institute of Physiology named after O.O.

Bogomolets National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, whose employee was Sharopov. 

"Today it became known that Bizhan died. Courageous, cheerful, young. Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, researcher, defender, boyfriend, son. Condolences to his family and colleagues. This is an irreparable loss for the entire team and loved ones. Rest in peace," it says. in the message.

Bizhan Sharopov's family moved to Kyiv in 1995 from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, where the young scientist and defender of Ukraine was born.

After graduation, he studied at the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, and he entered postgraduate studies at the Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In 2019, he defended his candidate's thesis and was elected chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

After active participation in the Revolution of Dignity, Bizhan Sharopov joined the "Aidar" battalion and fought in Luhansk region in 2014-2015.

He returned to the army from the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

He was considered missing since April last year, the last post on his social media page was dated April 10.

Unofficially, his comrades reported the death of Sharopov in the battles near Izyum.

It will be recalled that Ukrainian mixed martial artist Eduard Kostrytsia, who fought under the call sign "Dangerous", was killed in battles with Russian invaders near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
