President Ilham Aliyev recalled with pleasure his visit to Vietnam and the meetings he held, and said that this visit made an important contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

The head of state noted that good cooperation is being implemented between Azerbaijan and Vietnam on a bilateral level and on a multilateral basis within the framework of international organizations.

During the Patriotic War in 2020, President Ilham Aliyev cooperated with other members of the Non-Aligned Movement, as a member state of the Non-Aligned Movement of Vietnam and as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, in preventing their adoption in international organizations, especially the UN Security Council, in the direction of adopting various statements against Azerbaijan. he pointed out that Azerbaijan highly appreciated the show of solidarity with our country.

The head of our state also touched on the importance of reforms in the UN Security Council, and in this regard, he stated the need for the chairing state of the Non-Aligned Movement to be represented in the UN Security Council as a permanent member on a rotating basis.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement will end in 2023, the head of state said that the main goal is to establish a working mechanism that will apply to the members who will take over the chairmanship after Azerbaijan.

Such an approach will only reflect international justice.

The head of our state also said that the summit meeting within the framework of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement will be held in Azerbaijan next month.

Emphasizing the very good relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in the field of education, President Ilham Aliyev said that even during the Soviet era, a large number of Vietnamese students were studying in our country.

The head of state recalled that during his visit to Vietnam, he met with the graduates of Azerbaijan's higher education institutions from this country, invited them to visit Azerbaijan, and noted with satisfaction that they made this visit.

President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the possibility of participation of Vietnamese companies in the implementation of restoration and construction projects in the territories freed from occupation of Azerbaijan, and invited those companies to participate in these works.

Expressing his satisfaction at being appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dang Minh Khoi conveyed the greetings of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The ambassador said that President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Vietnam made an important contribution to the development of our bilateral relations.

He recalled with satisfaction the contributions of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev to the development of Vietnam-Azerbaijan relations when he was still under the leadership of the Soviet Union, and noted that the Great Leader's visit to Vietnam played a major role in the development of our relations.

The head of state also recalled Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's visit to Vietnam when he was in the leadership of the Soviet Union, and said that the National Leader always contributed and supported the expansion of relations between our countries.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that he always has great respect for the heroism and determination of the Vietnamese people.

The diplomat pointed out that the people of Vietnam appreciate Azerbaijan's creation of conditions for a large number of Vietnamese students to study in our country, and that Vietnamese specialists educated in Azerbaijan are successfully working in various fields of the country today.

He said that currently Vietnamese students are studying in Azerbaijan under the educational scholarship programs allocated by the Non-Aligned Movement of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Dang Min Khoi pointed out that Vietnam supports Azerbaijan's activities as chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, and will inform his country about the reforms in the UN Security Council and Azerbaijan's initiative to represent the chairman state of the Non-Aligned Movement in this structure.

During the conversation, the importance of increasing efforts towards further expansion of economic and commercial relations between our countries was emphasized.
