The mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov

Zdravko Dimitrov Dimitrov is a Bulgarian politician, Regional Governor of Plovdiv region. He was born on resigned as a member of GERB yesterday.

He commented to bTV that he was not looking for a confrontation, but there are many projects that need to be completed.

This statement comes against the background of GERB leader Boyko Borisov's call for the mayor of Plovdiv to resign due to the delayed construction of the Hristo Botev stadium.

Dimitrov rejected Borisov's accusations.

He was supported by four of his deputies.

The mayor of Plovdiv explained that the municipal council was appointed by his predecessor, Ivan Totev, and he tried to work with dialogue and a lot of balancing.

"I never went backstage," he said.

Regarding the construction of the stadiums, Dimitrov said that there is not enough money.

"There is not enough money for the Botev stadium.

25 million were allocated, then the price was 53 million and the state had to intervene, because the municipality of Plovdiv could not take on everything.

25 million were allocated for the Botev Stadium and 12 million for the Lokomotiv Stadium.

There was no money to complete the projects at that time.

We are looking for more ways of financing," said the mayor.

He added that he will not say a bad word about Borisov.
