Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced on February 7 a lot of positive news for the state following a meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

The Ukrainian minister made his announcement at a joint press conference with his German counterpart in Kyiv, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.

So, Reznikov reported on a fruitful conversation with Pistorius and noted that this is their second meeting after the last meeting in the Rammstein format. 

"Soon there will be another one in the same format, but in Brussels. There will be a lot of positive news. We

discussed not only the conditions for protecting our skies, but also cooperation for the future and after the victory

," said the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

At the same time, Pistorius said that the parties discussed options for speeding up the production of ammunition for Ukraine, in particular, air defense systems.

The head of the German Defense Ministry also expressed solidarity with Ukraine and admiration and respect for its military. 

"A Ukrainian soldier is determined. There should be no doubt that we will stand by Ukraine in the future," the German minister assured.

We will remind, on the same day, the federal government of Germany officially approved the transfer of up to 178 Leopard 1 A5 tanks to Ukraine.

The final amount of equipment transferred will depend on the necessary repair work.

According to the media, Germany is negotiating with Sweden about a new arms package for Ukraine.

It should include missiles for air defense, which are compatible with the German IRIS-T system.

The day before, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak reported that the state is negotiating with Western partners regarding the supply of long-range missiles with a range of 200-300 km, as well as aviation.
