Ukrainian President Olena Zelenska's wife and Turkey's first lady Emine Erdogan exchanged words of sympathy, according to Twitter.

All about the topic:

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria 126

The reason for this is the powerful earthquake that shook southeastern Turkey and Syria on Monday morning, killing hundreds of people in both countries.

"Despite our own tragedy, our thoughts and prayers are with Turkey today. The death and suffering of thousands of people - an indescribable pain. Emine Erdogan, we are here for you and ready to help in any way possible. My condolences to those affected by the tragedy. Ukraine is with you," were the words of the first lady of Ukraine to Erdogan's wife.

A new earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 has shaken Turkey

A little later, Emine Erdogan thanked her on behalf of all of Turkey.

The first lady of our southern neighbor appreciated Ukraine's support in these difficult times.

"We are facing a pain that cannot be described. I have no doubt that with unity and solidarity we will overcome this together," she wrote.

I would like to express my country's gratitude for your condolences and support during these hard times.

We are facing pain beyond words.
