After repeated postponements, the trial of the journalist and public activist began on January 16.

It is known that the political prisoner was offered to write a request for pardon in the name of Lukashenka, but he refused.

Andrzej is involved in two criminal cases: "calling for actions aimed at harming the national security of the Republic of Belarus" (Article 361 of the Criminal Code) and "inciting enmity" (Article 130 of the Criminal Code).

On October 4 last year, the State Security Committee added the journalist to the list of persons "involved in terrorist activities."

Andrzej Pachobut was detained on March 25, 2021, together with other activists of the Polish national minority, and his house was searched for many hours.

Since then, he has been behind bars: first in Zhodzin remand prison, then in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Minsk, and from September 2022 in the pre-trial detention center in Grodno.

Human rights activists recognized Pachobut as a political prisoner.
