24/02 is the name of the podcast about the war in Ukraine by Edwin Sugarev, poet, publicist, dissident, diplomat.

In 12 episodes, he will present the point of view of contemporary Bulgarian intellectuals.

"The motive is obvious - the war is the biggest breakdown in the modern world. The vision of writers and intellectuals about the moral challenges of this war is very important. They should not be silent," the author explained to BNR.

Political scientist: There is little probability of a regular cabinet with mandate holders PP and DB

The point of view of writers and intellectuals is a clear corrective, Sugarev is convinced.

"The war makes us wonder how it all came to this, to this carnage, after we have the experience of the First and Second World Wars..."

The most significant for Bulgaria are not so much the processes related to the economic problems that arose during the war, he believes.

"The most risky thing is the division in Bulgarian society, the hesitation whether we should be in defense of Ukraine, or we may follow some other path..."

The podcast will voice the position of various contemporary intellectuals.

The first episode is with the writer Teodora Dimova.

Sugarev plans one episode a month, each of which will be about an hour long.

There is a very close connection between the deepening political crisis in Bulgaria and the war in Ukraine, "as well as with the emerging Russophile tendencies in Bulgarian politics, which are looking for an opportunity (despite this drastic crime) to stay afloat and serve to reorient Bulgaria towards another geopolitical direction", commented Edvin Sugarev in the program "Horizon do Oed".

Instability eats away at confidence in the political system itself.

People throw up their hands and simply refuse to vote, he reports on the current political situation.

Sugarev predicts that there is a fairly high probability that the deadlock from the previous 4 elections will be repeated.

In his words, "the political forces have rather focused on the local elections" and "perhaps they will use the opportunity this time, in the form of a failed parliament, to continue their election campaign for the next elections".
