Volodymyr Zelenskyy is going to Brussels, several reputable Western media reported that the Ukrainian president is expected in the EU capital already this Thursday, citing informed interlocutors.

The details of the visit, which are not officially confirmed, but for which the European institutions are already preparing, are also given, Radio Svoboda correspondent Zoryana Stepanenko tells TSN.

If the business trip goes well, then Volodymyr Zelenskyi will be able to meet not only with the leadership of the European institutions, but also with all 27 leaders of the EU countries at the same time - they will have an extraordinary summit on Thursday, where Ukraine will once again lead the agenda.

He had already communicated with them during the war in this format, but exclusively online.

The day before, the Eurocouncil confirmed that a high-ranking guest from Ukraine is expected here.

Its head - Charles Michel - invited Zelensky to personally join the summit.

However, Michel's spokesman refrained from providing further details for security reasons.

Sources and a number of authoritative Western mass media write that another stop of Zelenskyi in Brussels will be Luxemburg Square, where the European Parliament is located.

The Ukrainian president plans to address the MEPs from the podium, and there have already begun preparations for this event, the Associated Press writes.

The interlocutors of the publication explained that the plans of the European Parliament are primarily to be ready to receive Zelensky in case he comes.

Adding that due to the security situation, the decision on the business trip can be taken at the last moment.

Zelensky himself last week, while receiving the leaders of the European institutions in Kyiv, confirmed his desire to visit Brussels in order to express his gratitude to the European leaders for everything they have already done for Ukraine.

At the same time, he said, he will go if the situation in the country and at the front allows - against the background of the fact that, as the Ukrainian political and military leadership declares, the Russians want revenge.

If there is a chance to get a long-range weapon, Zelensky then emphasized that it will change the course of the war, and they know about it, he added, in Ukraine, in Moscow, as well as in Brussels.

Whether this means that the EU countries are ready to provide such weapons, no insiders are yet known.

The Ukrainian diplomatic corps stated that long-range missiles and combat aircraft are now a priority, and they will try to unblock their supply at a prestigious conference in Munich next week.

Next week and a meeting in the Rammstein format.

As for the summit, further anti-Russian sanctions will be among the key topics to be discussed there.

The EU is preparing a 10th package of sanctions for the anniversary of the invasion, and a Polish diplomat expressed displeasure that it was too slow.

Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU Andrzej Sados expressed his disappointment that the procedure is being delayed in Brussels.

"Against the background of alarming information about a possible new offensive by Russia, we are losing precious time, for which Ukraine is paying every day with civilian casualties and damaged infrastructure," said the Polish diplomat.

According to Andrzej Sados, the European Commission did not process the sanctions proposals of Poland and the Baltic countries and canceled last week's meetings of permanent representatives at the last moment.

At the same time, it became known that Biden will visit Poland at the end of February.

The visit may coincide with the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, reports NBC.

At the same time, the media adds that the schedule of the trip is not finalized until the White House announces the visit.
