Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue the war against Ukraine, because this is a way to preserve his power, but he is running out of financial and resource opportunities for maneuver.

Mykhailo Samus, deputy director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament for International Affairs, told about this in an interview with TSN.ua.

He commented on the presenter's thesis that Russia's statements about negotiations with Ukraine may be just a diversionary maneuver and in fact Putin will fight to the point of exhaustion, because this is also a way to preserve his power.

"

As long as he (Putin - ed.) continues the war, he lives,

that's true. But the headline "half a year left" is not just that, because he is really running out of opportunities for maneuver. He has opportunities for maneuver financial, resource - this is the main thing," Samus noted.

"That is, he can use these 130-140 million slaves without any problems at all, but there are other problems.

If he loses all resources, then who will talk to him?

Well, which comrade Xi will talk to Putin or the leaders of India and other countries? If Putin will be on his knees begging to buy oil at $10, not to give up his nuclear energy project. He will soon be begging Erdogan, because if sanctions are introduced now (from the EU - ed.), then Erdogan will be told: "Come join us," the expert explained .

In this context, he recalled how last week, as part of the imposed sanctions, access to Turkish airports was closed to Russian airlines flying Boeing aircraft.

"

Soon, Putin will be visited and given all the pats on the back of the head, because he is really losing...

He actually lost on February 24, when he swung at "I am the pole of the world, I'll show you how it's done." China looked at him, what will be the reaction, "so that maybe we can try something like this later with Taiwan". And in fact, this is what happened:

now Bakhmut is the limit of his dreams

, and he will not succeed in this," said Samus.

We will remind, at the beginning of February, the speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, declared the state's alleged readiness for peace negotiations with Ukraine, but on the condition that there are no conditions from Kyiv.

Military expert and former adviser to the head of the OP Oleksiy Arestovych expressed the opinion that Putin is planning a new offensive on Ukraine in order to bring the war to a stalemate and start negotiations after the complete capture of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
