Delhi Mayor's election has been postponed for the third time

New Delhi:

There is a fierce tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP regarding the mayoral election in Delhi.

The election of the Mayor of Delhi could not be held on the last day also.

Now AAP has approached the Supreme Court regarding this issue of Delhi Mayor's election.

AAP filed a petition challenging the decision of voting for nominated councillors.

The Supreme Court will hear this petition on Wednesday.

In fact, as soon as the mayor's election in Delhi was postponed for the third time, the Aam Aadmi Party has again filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the mayor's election in MCD.

During this, Presiding Officer Satya Sharma announced that the nominated councilors will also vote in the election of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Standing Committee members.

There is also a plan to mention the matter on Tuesday for an early hearing on the basis of urgency.

Last time when your mayoral candidate Dr. Shaili Oberoi had withdrawn her petition from the court, the bench headed by CJI Justice had given her an exemption that if you have any problem in future, you can come here.

The main ground and prayer in your petition is that the Supreme Court should ensure the elections under its supervision so that the Lieutenant Governor and the Central Government do not commit any arbitrariness by taking constitutional process and legal provisions in their hands.
