A deputy

of the Kherson Regional Council from the Volodymyr Saldo Bloc, a party banned in Ukraine, is suspected of collaborating with the Russian FSB.

This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspect, who previously served in law enforcement agencies and retired as a police major general, cooperated with an employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation during the temporary occupation of Kherson.

A representative of the Russian special service managed the processes of establishing and confirming the authority of the occupying forces, coordinated the creation of pseudo-law enforcement and illegal judicial bodies in the territory of the Kherson region.

"The role of the suspect was to provide the curator from the Russian Federation with information about persons who can be involved in cooperation and work in the occupation authorities. For this purpose, he personally contacted both former law enforcement officers and perpetrators, inducing them to cooperate with the "liberators", - it is said in the message.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office informed in absentia of the suspicion of a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from the "Block of Volodymyr Saldo" party, banned in Ukraine, in the commission of deliberate accessory actions with the aim of changing the borders of the territory and the state border of Ukraine (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
