A 7-day national mourning has been declared following the two devastating earthquakes in Turkey.

The two earthquakes were not felt in Istanbul because of the great distance from the epicenter.

This is what Pavlina Kopano, an artist living in Istanbul, said in "This Morning".

"Everyone who is able to help save people is on the scene.

People follow the events and try to support the people on the ground in spirit," she pointed out.

"I have no friends or relatives who are in the affected areas.

Turkey is a huge country and many people living in Istanbul are originally from there.

The only close acquaintance I have in the area is an employee of the Bulgarian Exarchate.

He was born in a village near Antakya.

According to his information, there is no building in the village that has not been destroyed, including the church," added Pavlina Kopano.

"There is no information about everyone who is missing.

Every hour, new data comes out, which are very gloomy," she added.
