Eventually, Ukraine will receive American F-16 fighter jets, it is only a matter of time.

This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, CNN informs.

"It's only a matter of time before we get F-16s. They will definitely arrive. Unfortunately, in the meantime, choosing independence, we are losing our people," Danilov said.

In an interview with CNN last month, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said: "Last year I sent a card to Santa Claus with a wish list, and fighter jets were also on that wish list."

Note that the F-16 would give the Armed Forces the opportunity, if they overcome the enemy's air defenses, to strike far behind the front line.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, said that he would receive fighter jets from the West, but not necessarily American F-16 fighter jets.

The French Ministry of Defense named three criteria for sending fighter jets to Ukraine.

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace stated that providing fighter jets to Ukraine at this stage

, but a "clear decision" has not yet been made.
