GVK Group Vice Chairman GV Sanjay Reddy has denied Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's allegation that the Modi government pressured the GVK Group and "hijacked" the Mumbai airport from the group to Adani Group. was handed over to

Reddy told NDTV today, "There was no pressure from the Adani group or anyone else to sell the Mumbai airport."

Adani Airport Holdings Limited acquired Mumbai Airport from GVK in July 2021. 

Reddy told NDTV, "Let me give you the background of this transaction. You know maybe a year prior to that (the sale), we were looking at raising funds because in our airport holding company, we had about 10 years." The loan was taken earlier when we acquired the Bangalore airport and the loan was falling due. So we were talking to investors and we had tied up with three investors."
