The head of state said that the news about numerous casualties and destruction caused by the earthquake in Turkey shocked and saddened Azerbaijan.


President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, their families and the brotherly people of Turkey on behalf of the people who died during the earthquake, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The President of Azerbaijan noted that this is a big disaster and our country shares Turkey's pain.

The head of our state emphasized that Azerbaijan and Turkey are always by each other's side.


Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his deep gratitude for the call and condolences.


The head of state said that according to his order, a rescue team consisting of 420 people has already been sent to the brotherly country, and as soon as they arrive at the scene, they will start working together with their colleagues from Turkey.


President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that help with the necessary supplies will be sent to the brotherly country in the near future.
