Pope Francis said that he is ready to hold a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin.

This is reported by Rai News.

"I am open to a meeting with both presidents of Ukraine and Russia," the pontiff said.

He also explained why he has not yet visited Kyiv.

Like, because there is no opportunity to come to Moscow yet.

But Francis noted that he was asking for dialogue.

It will be recalled that in his Christmas message, the Pope called for peace in Ukraine, reminding that Ukrainians are meeting this Christmas "in the dark, in the cold or far from their homes due to the destruction caused by ten months of war."
