The attitude of the RSM towards Bulgaria and Bulgarian statehood is very unpleasant.

It has never happened that our border was closed and then a document was handed over that Bulgarian citizens were a threat to their country.

The North Macedonian authorities wanted to destroy the possibility of a joint celebration.

Our entire delegation waited 4 hours to lay wreaths on the grave of Gotse Delchev, instead of doing it together with theirs, as recommended by the EC.

In North Macedonia, it has become a daily routine for Bulgarians to be threatened with death and the police to take no action.

This is what Victor Stoyanov from the "Macedonia" Foundation said about "Your Day".

According to him, Bulgaria should not return the veto, because this is a last resort.

"The RSM itself is stopping its integration. They are not progressing in their negotiations, they are not approaching the EU of their own accord. The Bulgarian community in the RSM must be supported. A long-term policy is needed to bring the Macedonian society closer to Bulgaria," he said.

Stoyanov revealed that he received death threats from North Macedonians on ethnic grounds.

He added that he had sent dozens of signals to the police in Skopje, but there was no response.

Was there physical violence against the detained Bulgarians at the border with the RSM?

Journalist Zahari Belchev believes that the RSM has no will to calm the situation.

"They are trying in every possible way to distance the two countries.

"They were protected by the lifting of the veto and thought that they could act like in communist times. The fighting started 15 cars behind us. There was a provocation from the local police, they had sent civilians and gendarmerie, even their media was built, it was obviously expected to create a provocation . After they had been standing for hours, there was a question as to why things did not happen faster. The provocation was sought. The measures were not for security, but for the inadmissibility of Bulgarians to the grave of Gotse Delchev," he said.
