, a strong fire broke out in the Turkish port of Iskenderun, located on the border with Syria.

As Anadolu reports, as a result of two earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6, cargo containers overturned in the port, which led to a large-scale fire.

Rescuers are at the scene.

Eyewitnesses told the Reuters agency that a column of thick black smoke was rising from the site of the fire.

We will remind you that on Monday, February 6, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in Turkey near the city of Gaziantep.

This is the most powerful earthquake in the country in the last more than 80 years, it also affected Syria.

Aftershocks were felt even in Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Libya and Israel. 

Up to 20 earthquakes were recorded in Turkey. 

The natural disaster 

claimed the lives of at least 1,400 people

and destroyed hundreds of buildings.

Husein Arnous died as a result of the earthquake.
