Human rights defenders recognized 20 more people as political prisoners, now there are 1,450 of them in Belarus, the human rights center "Viasna" reports, writes BPN.

  • Tutor Yevhen Livyant with his wife Yulia Livyant, daughter Anna Livyant and son-in-law Nikita Drazd, Livyant's colleague and co-owner of the educational center "100 Points" Aleksey Ivanov

  • cultural expert, member of the core of the Coordinating Council Oksana Zaretskaya

  • mother of political prisoners brothers, musicians of the band Litesound Dmitry and Vladimir Karakiny Olga Karakin

  • Vitebsk art manager and musician Uladzimir Bulavski

  • actor of theater and music collective "Buttons" Andrey Trizubau

  • Yuriy Ulasiuk, PhD student of the Faculty of History of BSU

  • Ilona Zaitsava, Anna Kovaleva, Ala, Vasil Shalkevich

  • Andriy Karpenko was also recognized as a political prisoner, sentenced to three years of imprisonment under Part 1 of Art.

    367 (slander against the president) of the Criminal Code.

In addition to "Viasna", the corresponding statement was signed by the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, the Belarusian PEN, the Legal Initiative, the Belarusian House of Human Rights named after Barys Zvozskov, the Belarusian Association of Journalists, the Office for the Rights of People with Disabilities, the Lawtrend and Human Constanta initiatives.
