A new powerful earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey.

This was reported by the Directorate for Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations (AFAD).

The tremors were recorded at 13:24 local time (12:24 - Kyiv time - ed.).

The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 7 km in the Elbistan district, in the province of Kahramanmarash in the southeast of the country, where the previous earthquake also occurred.

Houses were assembled like cards. 

At least 912 people were killed and 5,385 injured in the earthquake in Turkey.

Three earthquakes rocked Turkey in a day.

Rescuers and local residents are searching for survivors under the rubble.

A state of emergency has been declared in the country.

We will remind you that due to the earthquake in Turkey, UNESCO objects were damaged - the historic fortress in Gaziantep, included in the World Heritage List, collapsed.
