This Monday, at the beginning of the exchanges of candidates for deputies with the population in work and education centers, communities and neighborhoods, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, has been with seven other candidates in different parts of the city of Santa Clara, Villa Clara.

After being at the Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences, Díaz-Canel and his fellow candidates held a meeting with students and workers from the education sector at the Palace of Pioneers in the capital of Villa Clara.

There, according to a publication by the Cuban Presidency on Twitter, the teachers spoke “about the importance of education and the challenge of raising its quality;

about the school that has to be the center of the community and the commitment of the educators with the elections of March 26”.

The president asked the teachers present to explain to the teaching groups the election process in Cuba, so that they can vote consciously.

He spoke of defending the united vote, that there are no differences between one candidate or another because they are more or less known.

At the beginning of the day, on his Twitter account, Díaz-Canel affirmed that "for me it is an honor to be in the candidacy together with people who, even when they are very young, have dedicated their lives to the Revolution, and who through merits own today are recognized by their people.

Good people, like the Cuba they represent.”

It is an honor for me to be running alongside people who, even when they were very young, have dedicated their lives to the Revolution.

Consecrated, talented companions, and who on their own merits today are recognized by their people.

Good people, like the #Cuba they represent.
