On Sunday, February 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding sanctions against Russia's nuclear industry.
He announced this during the traditional evening address.
According to him, this is not the last decision regarding this branch of the terrorist state.
"The meaning of our steps is also to support the efforts of our diplomats to expand global sanctions on this part of the Russian aggression machine," the president said.
Zelensky emphasized that Russia is the only country in the world that allows its military to fire at nuclear plants and use nuclear power plants as a cover for shelling, and recalled that Russian missiles have repeatedly flown over Ukraine's nuclear facilities.
"The terrorist state also uses the nuclear industry as one of the elements of external expansion to put pressure on other states, to create corresponding threats to the sovereignty of other states.
All these are sufficient reasons for the nuclear industry of Russia to be under global sanctions.
And we are working on this with our partners," Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured.
We will remind you that in December 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that there are up to 500 armed Russian occupiers on the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP.
