Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said that during the take-off of the MiG-31 in Belarus, an air alert is announced so that there are no victims later, if the occupiers do launch "Daggers" over Ukraine.

He said this on his YouTube channel.

"Theoretically, our air defense can shoot down the Dagger missiles, especially the NASAMS and IRIS-T complexes. Only if the missile flies within the range of these systems and the missile launches are notified from the moment of launch. We cannot but declare an air alert, because the range of the Dagger " more than 2,000 kilometers. That is, they cover the entire territory of Ukraine. It is not known where this missile will fly, and that is why they announce an air alert to give people the opportunity to hide and then not look for them under the rubble of a residential building. The fact that they are looking for our air defense is yes. And this is a problem, but a small one. Because there is no stationary air defense in Ukraine, because the occupiers destroyed it at the beginning of the war. We have mobile air defense and today it can be rearranged. They are probably looking for possible areas where there is air defense," said Zhdanov .

It should be noted that an air alert is very often declared in Ukraine when Russian MiG-31 aircraft fly over Belarus.

It can even be several times a day.

The last large-scale air alert was announced on February 4.

It will be recalled that France and Italy will provide Ukraine with air defense systems.

We are talking about the SAMP/T-Mamba air defense system, for which the Ukrainian military was specially sent abroad for training.
