Currently, there are 729 servicemen of the Azov Special Forces (Separate Special Purpose Unit) in Russian captivity.

The acting commander of the "Azov" brigade, one of the defenders of "Azovstal" Bohdan Krotevych ("Tavr") told about this in an interview with Natalia Moseichuk.

"At the moment, they are not in the same place. And we have information as of a certain date, for example, December 28, 2022. In a month, a person could be transferred to another institution, his condition could either improve or worsen," he said.

According to Krotevych, the main information about the condition of prisoners is obtained from discharged servicemen.

"They say when they saw a relative and in what condition. Their condition is, to put it mildly, unsatisfactory. All the same (Russians. - Ed.) use physical and psychological influence," said the "Azovite".

Krotevych's brother, another hero of "Azovstal" Ilya Samoilenko ("Gandalf") added that the information from the military, who have been in captivity for more than half a year, does not carry any value and is not relevant.

"What kind of information to knock out is a question. But in their paradigm, it is more important who to knock out, and how," Samoilenko concluded.

It should be noted that the "Azov" National Guard Special Forces, which participated in the defense of Mariupol, asks them not to be confused with the "Azov" SSO, which is part of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

We will remind, on Saturday, February 4, another 116 Ukrainians were released from Russian captivity.

Among them are defenders of Mariupol, Kherson, Bakhmut and other Ukrainian cities.

The SBU showed a video of the exchange of prisoners from the Russian Federation on February 4.

According to President Zelenskyi, the total number of prisoners who have been returned home since February 24 has already reached 1,762 people.
