In Russia, there are not enough strike groups to start a new large-scale operation of a strategic or operational-strategic level.

Military expert Mykhailo Samus expressed this opinion on Apostrof TV.

According to him, if the Russians launch an offensive against Ukraine with all the forces gathered at the moment, it will lead to the final defeat of the Russian army.

"If they are in the state in which they are now, they will go to Ukraine simultaneously from several directions - it will be a disaster and a complete defeat of Putin's army," Samus emphasized.

According to the expert's assessment, the Russian army maintains certain groups in Belarus, 10-12 thousand soldiers in the Kharkiv direction, the main group in Donbas and part of the troops in the south. 

"They continue offensive actions in Donbas.

It is the actions, not the operation, that does not lead to the operation.

Such actions are taking place because Putin has set the task of occupying Donbas.

He needs at least something by February 24.

But I would not talk about a full-scale offensive, since the Russians do not have the strength," he noted.
