At least 22 people have died as a result of large-scale forest fires in south-central Chile.

Another 554 people were injured, 16 of whom received burns and are in serious condition.

More than 1.4 thousand people are in shelters.

This was reported by CNN with reference to the Minister of the Interior of Chile, Carolina Toha.
