The head of the private paramilitary company "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigozhin said that its fighters are fighting there for every street, every house and every staircase against the Ukrainian forces, which are not backing down.

"Of course, it's nice that the media wants the retreat of the armed forces of Ukraine, but this is not happening in the northern districts, nor in the southern, nor in the eastern," Prigozhin said in response to a journalist's question about reports in Russian media that Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from the northern regions of Bakhmut.

Meanwhile, Sergiy Haydai, regional governor of Luhansk Oblast, said Ukrainian forces continue to control the village of Bilokhorovka, which is the last Ukrainian-held part of Luhansk Oblast.

"Our troops remain in their positions, no one has captured Bilokhorovka, no one has entered there, there are no enemies there," Hadai said, adding that the situation on the front is tense, and the number of Russian attacks has increased, but all have been pushed back by Ukrainian soldiers.
