The member countries of the European Union (EU) are experiencing a "demographic winter".

According to APA, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy and Security, Joseph Borrell, said this in an interview with the Spanish newspaper "El País".

Joseph Borrell said that due to the extreme differences in the positions of the EU member states, Europe cannot form a policy on common migration and asylum for refugees: "Europe needs to develop its human potential, because its own demography cannot provide it.

Borders must be protected, but borders must be protected precisely within the framework of political strategy.

We are not going to build our future in a closed area.

That is why it is in our interests for migrants to enter the EU in a regular and controlled manner."
