The Kremlin is well aware that the weapons that NATO has are not comparable to those of the Russian Federation.

The director of the Center for European Initiatives Yevhen Kryshtafovych said this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

"All the messages that Putin is trying to send, in particular in his last speech, about the Leopard tanks, which after the Great Patriotic War again ... there were no Leopard tanks in the Great Patriotic War, but okay.

But they are again threatened with crosses on the territory that they consider their own for some reason.

All this was actually done, of course, so that the people in Germany would change their minds, so that there would be a reference to their historical guilt, etc., Yevhen Kryshtafovych noted.

Evgeny Kryshtafovych explains that the President of the Russian Federation, Putin, understands German society well, and it is not for nothing that he "spyed there" for many years.

"He addresses them, rather, in this sense, and this is also a game, allegedly, on both fears and a sense of guilt (...) But can a regime that kills children, shoots at maternity homes, at the homes of civilians , to claim some role as a moral beacon? Most likely, no," the expert noted.

In his opinion, the policy of aggressor Russia is understood and distrusted by the absolute majority in Germany.

"Today, I think, in the context of the Ukrainian war, many have finally come to understand, thanks to the fact that Ukraine is constantly in the international news, that these are not collective Russians, that there are nuances," Kryshtafovych believes.

He noted that, apart from the Russian Federation, no one in the world threatens the NATO bloc so seriously.

"And when we live in a state with a sufficiently peaceful sky above our heads, there are conversations about the need to increase the budget of the NATO bloc, that is, the deduction of all NATO member countries as a percentage of GDP is much more than it is foreseen, of course, no one conducts such conversations .

And why?

Why store these weapons in large quantities if they are not used.

That's how much it takes to maintain combat readiness for any unexpected threats the military Alliance may face, yes, that's enough.

Before that, it was said that the standard stipulates 2%.

Estonia correctly deducted this percentage from its budget, many countries did not do this.

France and Germany did not do this, the percentage was much lower.

Now there is also a discussion going on among them that it is necessary to raise it below 2.5%, to make it the mandatory minimum".

Let's add that the Armed Forces of Ukraine expect 160 Leopard 1 main battle tanks from German industrial warehouses. German manufacturers can repair a significant part of their combat vehicles.

We will also remind you that the first Leopard 2 tank left for Ukraine by plane from Canada.
