Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy, Denys Maslov, said that the transfer of $5.4 million confiscated by the United States from Russian

oligarch

Konstantin Malofeev to Ukraine will take several weeks.

Maslov told about this on the air of the national telethon.

"Everything will be quite fast, because, as far as I know, the Ministry of Justice and the US Attorney General have already authorized the transfer of funds to Ukraine. The issue of transferring these funds will not take much time - it is a matter of a maximum of weeks," said the deputy.

He noted that the entire confiscated amount will be transferred to the reconstruction of Ukraine, and Malofeyev also faces up to 40 years in prison.

Maslov emphasized that the transfer of confiscated funds is the first result of the amendment to the US budget, which was adopted by the Senate in December 2022.

As a reminder, the

US State Department will transfer to Ukraine the funds of Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev

, which were confiscated in April last year after the Russian was accused of evading sanctions.
