On February 4, the Council of the European Union approved the maximum price for

gasoline

and diesel fuel from Russia at the level of $100 per barrel, and for products sold at a discount - at the level of $45 per barrel.

The restrictions will come into effect on February 5, 2023.

This is stated on the website of the Council of the European Union.

A transitional period of 55 days is provided for vessels carrying Russian petroleum products that were purchased and loaded before this deadline.

It is planned to review this limit every two months.

Limitation of prices for Russian oil

On December 2, 2022, the countries of the European Union agreed on a regulated "ceiling" of prices for Russian oil delivered by sea.

In response to the actions of the EU

, Russia threw a tantrum and threatened

to stop supplies to Europe.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the United States and allied countries

are preparing new sanctions against Russia

for its aggression against Ukraine, which will be aimed at restrictions on the export of oil products.
