The number of refugees from Ukraine registered for temporary protection in Europe as of January 31, 2023 is 4 million 823.33 thousand.

According to UNHCR estimates, the largest number of Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status is still in Poland - 1 million 563.39 thousand, their number has increased by 55.5 thousand in two months.

It is noted that the number of Ukrainian refugees with the status of temporary protection in Europe exceeded 4.95 million people by the end of January 2023, but later the data on Germany was updated for two months, according to which a decrease in the number of Ukrainians with such a status was recorded in the country by more than 140 thousand - up to 881.4 thousand.

In third place is the Czech Republic, where the number of refugees from Ukraine registered for temporary protection increased by 22.7 thousand to 485.1 thousand from the end of November.

In fourth place is Italy - 169.31 thousand (an increase of 5.1 thousand).

Next comes Spain - 161.01 thousand (an increase of 6.5 thousand).

Great Britain - 158.8 thousand (increase by 12.6 thousand) and Bulgaria - 151.71 thousand (increase by 5.7 thousand).

More than 100,000 Ukrainians registered for temporary protection in France, Romania and Slovakia: 118,990 (data as of October 21), 110,900 (increase by 33,000) and 107,000 (increase by 5,800), respectively. .

92.44 thousand Ukrainian refugees were registered in Austria (an increase of 5.5 thousand), in the Netherlands – 85.21 thousand (an increase of 6 thousand), in Switzerland – 78.89 thousand (an increase of 9.3 thousand), in Lithuania – 73, 61 thousand (an increase of 3 thousand)

Ukrainian refugees are also registered in Ireland - 72.58 thousand (increase by 8.3 thousand), Belgium - 64.41 thousand (increase by 4.9 thousand), Portugal - 57.11 thousand (increase by 4.2 thousand) and Sweden - 51.23 thousand (an increase of 2.8 thousand).

49,290 Ukrainian refugees were registered in Finland (an increase of 5,500), Latvia – 45,300 (an increase of 2,500), Estonia – 42,830 (an increase of 4,100), Norway – 38.58 thousand (increase by 6.5 thousand), Denmark – 37.69 thousand (increase by 2.7 thousand) and Hungary – 33.63 thousand (increase by 1.3 thousand).

The number of Ukrainian refugees with the status of temporary protection in Greece is 20.96 thousand (increase by one thousand), in Cyprus – 20.6 thousand (increase by 2.3 thousand), in Croatia – 20.49 thousand (increase by 1.4 thousand ).

8.66 thousand Ukrainian refugees are registered in Slovenia, 7.92 thousand in Montenegro, 2.24 thousand in Iceland, 1.54 thousand in Malta, 1.23 thousand in Serbia and Kosovo, and 0.54 thousand in Liechtenstein.

have significantly improved their standard of living after being forced to move to Poland. 

However, in Poland, 

58% of Ukrainians rent housing at their own expense.

 Only 5% of Ukrainian refugees live on the funds of the Polish state.
