The Ukrainian Armed Forces can receive up to 160 Leopard main battle tanks from German industrial warehouses.

Companies Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau (FFG) are ready to repair a significant part of their existing combat vehicles.

This was reported by the German publication Handelsblatt.

In addition to the 14 Leopard 2 tanks, the delivery of which has already been announced by the German government, the Armed Forces can receive older models of this combat vehicle from Germany.

Manufacturer Flensburger Fahrzeugbau (FFG) said it has 99 Leopard 1 tanks in stock, while Rheinmetall has another 88 main battle tanks of this model.

However, it is currently unknown when exactly the combat vehicles from FFG and Rheinmetall will be fully equipped and ready.

Some of them are in poor condition, but their spare parts can be used to upgrade other Leopard tanks.

The federal government also has yet to figure out who will pay for the reconstruction.

Financing through EU banks or the federal budget is possible.

Earlier, Bundestag deputy Markus Faber said that the supply of Leopard tanks to the Armed Forces will be a significant contribution to the defense of Ukraine.

We will remind you that Germany approved the supply of Leopard 1 tanks from industrial stocks to Ukraine.
