The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China commented on the cancellation of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to China.

APA reports with reference to "Associated Press" that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China issued a statement in this regard.

"Actually, the United States and China have never announced any visit, the fact that the United States made such a statement is their personal matter, and we respect it," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Note that on February 5, Blinken was supposed to visit Beijing for talks aimed at reducing US-China tensions.

It would be the first such high-level visit since the country's leaders met in Indonesia last November.

However, the trip was canceled after a giant Chinese balloon was discovered in the US sky.

China claims it is simply an "airship" that surveys weather conditions.

The Pentagon rejected China's claim that the balloon was not used for surveillance and had only limited navigational capabilities.
