[Reporter Xu Shenglun/New Taipei Report] A 50-year-old man surnamed Liu stole a car in Yingge, New Taipei City on Wednesday night. He used strange strokes to change the number on the license plate. He refused to check and ran into the policeman. The policeman immediately sprayed pepper spray on the driver's seat, but Liu Nan abandoned the car and fled. The police actively pursued him the next day, and finally arrested Liu Nan in Taoyuan and brought him to justice.

Liu Nan has many previous drug convictions. After taking heroin at 10 o'clock in the evening on the 1st, Liu Nan went to wander the streets of Yingge District, and saw a car on the side of the road and stole it to go shopping.

In order to avoid detection, Liu Nan took out the black magic pen that he carried with him, and changed the number 0 on the license plate to 8. Not to mention the messy changes, Liu Nan still thought he was ignorant.

When he passed the intersection of Dechang 2nd Street and Bade Street, he was bumped into by patrolling police from the Yingge Branch of the Three Gorges Police Station. So he stepped forward to stop the investigation, but Liu Nan rolled down the car window and pretended to cooperate. Seeing that the police let down their guard, they stepped on the gas pedal and rammed the police.

After chasing for about 500 meters, the police saw the stolen car parked on the side of the road, but Liu Nan was nowhere to be found.

The next day, the police checked the surveillance cameras and located Liu Nan in Taoyuan, and finally arrested him.

During the investigation, Liu Nan admitted to committing the crime, and also claimed that he had taken drugs. After the police interrogation, Liu Nan was sent to court on suspicion of theft, forgery of documents, obstructing public affairs, drugs, and public danger.
