A plane from Mexico returned 69 irregular migrants (46 men, 18 women and five minors) to Cuba on Friday, the Ministry of the Interior reported on its digital portal.

According to the report, four of these migrants left the country illegally by sea.

The others traveled legally to countries in the area and later took irregular routes in an attempt to reach the US border.

This is the third operation to return migrants from Mexico in 2023, with a total of 195 returned by air.

During 2023 there are already 2,112 irregular migrants who have been returned in 25 return actions from countries with which Cuba has migration agreements and by the United States Coast Guard Service.
