[Reporter Liu Xiaoxin/Changhua Report] Last night in Changhua County and the U.S. Police Department, there were two fatal car accidents within one hour. They were reported that a 40-year-old Chen Nan was killed by a motorcycle accident on Zhonghua Road in Shengang Township. The alcohol test value was as high as 1.3. mg/l; and a six-year-old schoolboy surnamed Huang crossed the road on Jiaqing Road in Hemei Town and collided with a small passenger car.

The Hemei police station stated that the two fatal car accidents last night were less than an hour apart. First, at 7:00 last night, it was reported that a man riding a motorcycle had collided with himself in Shengang Township, and then at nearly 8:00, there was a report of a primary school student in Hemei Town. There was an accident on foot, and the injured in these two traffic accidents were sent to the hospital and were declared dead.

The police said that in addition to the two fatal car accidents, there have been two serious fatal accidents recently. They were at the intersection of Xinbei Road and Sibei Road in Hemei Town at 8:00 a.m. on February 1. Wang Nan, who was driving a passenger car at the age of 18, collided with her. Shi Nv was sent to the hospital and died, leaving her husband alone to take care of the three children in Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 4.

; and on January 23, on the second day of the Lunar New Year, a car accident occurred at the intersection of Meigang Highway and Zhonghua Road 958 in Shengang Township. This accident caused the death of the novice father surnamed Chen.

The police emphasized that in order to enable the public to abide by traffic rules and reduce the causes of car accidents, they will strengthen the crackdown on violations such as speeding, drunk driving and not letting others pass by, so that passers-by can protect their own lives and property safety.

County councilor Lai Ching-mei said that the traffic accident in which the sixth child, Huang Tong, died last night, and the accident in which Shi’s daughter was riding a motorcycle happened in the vicinity of Peiying Elementary School. The police should strengthen safety measures on the roads to minimize casualties.

Lin Gengren, mayor of Hemei Town, pointed out that although the two fatal car accidents last night happened in Shengang and Hemei respectively, the two deceased were both Hemei people.

In Shengang Township, Changhua County, a man riding a motorcycle crashed into a roadside pole last night. The man was sent to the hospital and died.
