On Saturday, February 4, another 116 Ukrainians were released from Russian captivity.

The total number of prisoners who have been returned home since February 24 has already reached 1,762 people.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this in his traditional evening address 

The Ukrainian leader clarified that among the Ukrainians released today are 114 privates and sergeants, 2 officers.

These are soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, terror defense forces, the Navy, border guards, and soldiers of the State Emergency Service.

"We are constantly working to bring home all our people who are held in Russian captivity.

And I'm happy every time I succeed," he noted.

The President expressed his gratitude to the entire team that ensures the exchanges, the entire Coordination Staff of the GUR and personally to Budanov, Usov, Yermak, Klymenko, Malyuk, and Lubinets.

"Of course, it is worth mentioning Denys Monastyrskyi... This exchange was prepared with his participation.

And his death is really a great loss for our country," the president added.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi also thanked everyone involved in helping those released from captivity after their return.

"To everyone who treats, restores documents, helps solve problematic issues of those released from captivity.

This reflects the main meaning of what we do.

We are restoring and protecting the normality of life for our people in a free country," the president emphasized.

It will be recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine showed a video of the exchange of prisoners from the Russian Federation on February 4, as a result of which 116 defenders returned home.
