Russian President

Vladimir Putin

is trying to enlist the support of African countries at the UN regarding the war in Ukraine.

The trips of his Belarusian ally Alexander Lukashenko and the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov to Zimbabwe and Eswatini are connected with this.

Russian political analyst Olga Kurnosova

told about this in an exclusive interview with

TSN.ua.

"It wasn't Lukashenko who started it, it was preceded by Lavrov's visit to the former Swaziland and unsuccessful attempts to agree on visa-free entry, since only holders of green diplomatic passports received visa-free visas, which means nothing. Accordingly, Lavrov did not succeed, so Lukashenko went to Zimbabwe. It is clear why Africa - the majority of African countries either do not participate in the meetings of the UN General Assembly at all, or refrain from war. Therefore, the attempt to drag them to their side is increasing," the analyst explained.

Kurnosova also reminded that Putin uses "anti-imperialist and anti-colonial rhetoric".

"Trying to take over Ukraine, Putin is telling you that you are all stupid, you don't understand anything. In fact, he is "fighting the imperialists against colonization", trying to take over Ukraine. This is his logic. To reinforce this trend and somehow drag part of the African countries into the zone of their influence, these trips take place. Sometimes they even succeed, and it is no coincidence that the same "Wagnerians" are active in Africa," she said.

We will remind you that the self-proclaimed president of Belarus Oleksandr Lukashenko paid an official visit to Zimbabwe the other day.

Lukashenko presented the president of Zimbabwe with a Belarusian tractor with a bow.

At the airport, the Belarusian dictator was escorted by a guard of honor, which included a goat.

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov signed a visa-free agreement between the Russian Federation and the small African country of Eswatini.

However, such "luxury" will not be for all Russians, but only for holders of "diplomatic and service passports".

"We really hope that our friends from the African Union will fully take into account the real state of affairs in Ukraine in their contacts with Western countries," Lavrov said during the visit.
