New Delhi:

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an inquiry into the matter after a passenger mistakenly boarded another flight of the airline to reach Udaipur, 1400 KM away from his destination, instead of an Indigo flight to Patna.

The incident is being told on January 30 and this passenger was sent to his destination the next day.

A senior DGCA official said that the passenger has been identified as Afsar Hussain.

He booked a ticket on Indigo flight 6E-214 to Patna and reached Delhi airport on January 30 to board the scheduled flight but by mistake he boarded flight 6E-319 of the same airline to Udaipur.

After landing this passenger at Udaipur airport, he realized his mistake.

After this, he informed the officials of Udaipur airport, who alerted the airline about this.

On behalf of the airline, the passenger was sent to Delhi on the same day and to Patna on the next day i.e. January 31.

The DGCA official said, "We are calling for a report in this matter and appropriate action will be taken against the airline."

In the investigation, DGCA will try to know why the passenger's boarding pass was not scanned properly?

He said that when the boarding pass is checked at two points as per rules before boarding, then how did he board the wrong flight?

On the other hand, the statement issued by the airline on Friday said, ""We are aware of the incident that happened with a passenger in 6E319 Delhi-Udaipur flight.

We are talking to the authorities in this matter.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the passenger." Let me tell you, this is the second such incident in the last 20 days in an Indigo flight. Earlier on January 13, a passenger, who had an airline ticket and a boarding pass for a flight to Indore Had boarded the wrong flight and reached Nagpur.
