In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a 23-year-old youth attempted suicide by coming live on Facebook.

However, within 15 minutes of starting the live stream, the police reached his house and rescued the youth.

Facebook itself informed the police about this.

The incident is of March last year.

An agreement between Facebook's company Meta and Uttar Pradesh Police saved the life of youth Abhay Shukla.

Facebook immediately alerted the media center of the state DGP's office via email.

Anshu Jain, a senior Ghaziabad police officer, said, "The man is originally from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh and had recently suffered a loss of Rs 90,000, due to which he took the extreme step."

On receiving the alert, Ghaziabad police rushed to trace Shukla's house and after some difficulty, they were able to trace his exact location in Vijayanagar area of ​​Ghaziabad.

The police found Abhay Shukla in his room and stopped him before he could attempt suicide.

Last December, a 27-year-old man in Guwahati committed suicide citing pressure from his family and his girlfriend's refusal to marry him during a live-casting on Facebook.

His family blamed the woman's family for his death.
