In Britain, the trial began in the case of the attempt on the life of Queen Elizabeth II, which was committed in December 2021.

Armed with a crossbow, Jaswant Singh Cheil, now 21, used a nylon ladder to sneak into Windsor Castle, where the Queen lived during the pandemic.

The BBC reports on the first statements at the court.

The investigation established that Jaswant Singh Chail had been hiding in the castle for two hours, waiting for the right opportunity to carry out his intention.

A guard officer spotted him near the door leading to the royal apartments.

The guy was wearing a balaclava and had a crossbow ready to fire.

During the detention, the man told the guard twice that he had come to kill the queen.

In addition, in a video posted on social media moments before entering the castle, Cheil said: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry for what I've done and what I'm going to do. I'm going to try to kill Queen Elizabeth, the head of the royal family . This revenge is for those who died in 1919 during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, when British soldiers opened fire on thousands of people gathered in the Indian city of Amritsar.'' .

Jaswant Singh Chail is on trial for making threats to kill, bringing a weapon into an official establishment, and for treason under the law, first issued in 1351.

Cheil pleaded guilty to all charges.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 31.

We will remind, on September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain died at the age of 97.
