On Friday, February 3, the US Department of Defense officially announced a new large package of military aid for Ukraine.

This was announced at a briefing by the press secretary of the Pentagon, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder of the US Air Force.

"Today, the US Department of Defense is announcing a new $2.2 billion aid package for Ukraine. The package includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, artillery ammunition, and conventional and long-range missiles for HIMARS," he said.

The list of the new package of military aid from the United States includes:

  • ammunition for HIMARS;

  • 155 mm caliber artillery shells;

  • 120-mm mortar mines;

  • 190 large-caliber machine guns with thermal imaging sights and appropriate ammunition for combating drones;

  • 181 mine-explosion-protected vehicles with protection against ambushes (MRAP);

  • 250 Javelin anti-tank missile systems;

  • 2,000 anti-tank missiles;

  • Claymore anti-personnel ammunition;

  • ammunition for detonation;

  • 2 HAWK anti-aircraft missile systems;

  • anti-aircraft guns and ammunition.

Since the full-scale Russian invasion, US military aid to Ukraine has reached $29.3 billion.
