This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the report of the Institute of Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatric Examination and Drug Monitoring of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The public research is carried out by a team of experts, sociologists and scientists of the Public Union "Center for Responsible Gaming" (RGC) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatric Examination and Drug Monitoring of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with the support of the main sponsor - Favbet.

Based on the study of gaming behavior of people who play gambling games, a team of scientists, doctors, psychologists, lawyers and sociologists will establish criteria for pathological and problematic gaming behavior and form a "portrait" of a positive and problematic gambler.

This will help gambling companies and doctors to timely detect signs of risky gambling behavior and prevent gambling addiction.

Also, the result of such work will be recommendations for the professional medical community regarding the application of gaming addiction treatment protocols.

The study will help to develop a toolkit for self-detection of problematic/pathological gaming behavior in a player and, based on the criteria of such behavior, to develop an action algorithm and self-help recommendations to prevent the risk of gambling addiction.

Also, the research should help develop recommendations for gambling business organizers to identify players with problematic/pathological gambling behavior and an algorithm of actions for responsible representatives to help such people.
