The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issued invitations for international observation of the early parliamentary elections on April 2, 2023, the department announced on its website.
Our Permanent Representation in Vienna sent notes verbales with invitations to the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Invitations were also extended to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), through our Permanent Representation in Strasbourg, and to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PACIS), through our Consulate General in Istanbul.
If these organizations express a desire, the MFA will propose to the CEC the registration of their representatives as international observers of the upcoming elections.
The new elections will cost BGN 87 million
Guaranteeing fair, free and democratic elections, according to the highest international standards, is a priority for the Republic of Bulgaria, our Foreign Ministry notes.
Yesterday, President Rumen Radev signed a decree on the dissolution of the 48th National Assembly on February 3, 2023 and scheduled parliamentary elections for April 2, 2023.
