The European Union will strengthen its activities in the direction of the use of frozen assets of Russia in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

APA reports that this was stated in a joint statement by the President of the EU Council Charles Michel, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky after the 24th European Union and Ukraine summit.

"In accordance with EU legislation and international law, the EU will strengthen its activities in the direction of using frozen assets of Russia to support the reconstruction of Ukraine and for compensation purposes," the statement said.
